Hah! The KS tier rewards just reek of "buying" power in the game.

All the KS rewards were made with avoiding pay2win in mind. Nexeon actually actively prides themselves on avoiding a "buying of power."

Premium time won't buy you power in this game either, it's convenience-based and not advantaged-based.

The Kickstarter Exclusive Weapon in one of the tiers may drop to storage and doesn't decay, but it's balanced because it's weaker than a lot of weapons(not sure as to the extent, but it's definitely weaker than "good gear")and not anywhere near the strongest weapons in the game. It's nothing anything that'll buy you power in the type of game Face of Mankind is anyways.

The five sets of starter gear are also balanced in a similar fashion, and if you call that "buying power" then I'm afraid I'm perfectly fine with that and I could definitely still end up poor as dirt within the game's economy.

Yeah there's absolutely nothing that'll buy you power in the reward tiers.

Really? Buying leadership for a faction is not buying power? Didn't know that.

The faction will start with no members, it won't be any more powerful than any other faction. Anyone can create a faction and be the leader of one, you don't need to pay $2500 for that. (I said this in my first post by the way, player-created factions was the big thing)

All the $2500 gives you is the right to use the name of the faction(there were only 8 factions in Legacy Face of Mankind and this buys the right to "recreate" them), and the faction is no different from any other faction anyone could make other than the name. (Which is what you're buying)

You don't need to buy a faction to make one. Those are just the 8 original factions that are currently in the game and will be removed from the game if no one decides to buy them. All you're getting then is just the clothing and the emblem, nothing else.

Also really hope the kickstarter hits the 250k goal. I would love to see the tech demo become a reality.

Buying a faction wont make you a good leader.

Nothing in FoM its pay2win....you lose all your loot when dead and armor breaks with the time.

The devil is in the details.

NeXeon (also known as "Charles Nemesis" and friends) completely screwed up the game some time ago by after purchasing the game resorting to a heavy dollar for power strategy. People who voiced their opinion about the direction of the game were banned. Didn't matter if it was in the game, on the forums or on the factions' ventrilo (which were privately owned). And no, a statement like "U mad bro?" could get your in-game and forum account banned for a year.

Under NeXeon it was then followed up by forcing people to make RP decisions (like not overthrowing a defunct senate RP story). Opposers of this was threatened with bans.

The outcome of this was that high ranks from all factions were either banned or left due to the obvious corruption.

And now neXeon is running a kickstarter to get money for something that barely qualifies (Game finished to the point where profit has been gained and multiple publishers have held it).
This is absolutely correct. Being a member of infamous Built mercenary cell I was often targeted by admin abuse even though I was one of the more diplomatic members as opposed to the rest of the killing machines. Countless times I have been unfairly banned to which a support ticket would immediately revoke said bans. I've applied to the dominion helping thingie and the FOMWiki, both of which were rejected because I have been (unfairly) banned in the past. I've written guides, written multiple lengthy suggestions, written roleplay stories, submitted impressive custom content and even worked with some well respected players at finding and reporting exploits. My reward was the removal of my posting privileges. All because I was part of the Built mercenary cell.

FOM is like a private server. It runs on favors and those with connections can do whatever they want, not to mention that those with admin privileges are walking gods. It's the only game that I have ever seen where a player can message a staff member's alt on his friends list and have someone banned. Even if that staff member was AFK for the last 30 minutes.

It's too bad you didn't read my post and will pretend that you were really, really wronged by things that happened that have no place in the current game. I'm also doubtful you even know what you're talking about with what you brought up because it's never been brought up to me over everything I've seen on the game.

Not that you actually read the "giant wall of text" as adequately as you somehow claimed if you're going to try this.

Please no, just no, if your argument is "you wrote a lot and I'm going to argue about things that haven't mattered in years"

"Changing the games engine to a different platform and launching a kick starter isn't going to magically change their personalities." Yeah, this actually flat-out misinformation, also when did you play , if at all?

The pay-to-win items have been sifted out months ago, GMs have been fired and "abuse" is gone, I'm seriously wondering how you are even trying this again? The way things are run was changed a long time ago.

And you just admitted to using scripts and hacks, are you really the one who can talk about Face of Mankind here? Really?

Nothing magically changed btw, the lead developer team was restructed and they haven't done what you said they did to anywhere near that extent(at least within the past year), nor was that a practice they've had since they took full reign and decided to try and make Face of Mankind a success.

Not sure where you think a struggling game in a niche genre that never saw much profit (if at all) is somehow "still" abusing their power in the game now.
