Default Twitter protests possible PS4 DRM

#PS4NoDRM if you'd like to say something. I have been expecting it since Microsoft announced their DRM. Although its a huge selling point for Sony to allow used games while the competitor bans them, I'm sure developers would be more reluctant to release their games on a system that still uses used games.

    I didn't even know I had a twitter account. I guess I do.

Not like a protest will change anything. Microsoft made a stupid greedy move, and Sony made the smart decision that it doesn't matter if it's used or new. If people want a certain game really bad, they're going to pre-order them anyway. Most used games are the older ones, that are hardly worth anything. Now if Microsoft made it possible to activate games on 3 profiles maximum, like how psn does it with some/most of their games, they won't lose out much either.

The attitude of "a protest won't do anything" is probably the reason protests don't do anything. If you have a twitter, it literally takes less than 30 seconds to write something up. If every person who blew this off as ineffective wrote a tweet, maybe it WOULD do something. Probably not, I'm a realist, but for something that takes less time to do than checking an email, I figure why not go for it?

Anyway, to be honest, I completely understand the point of DRM. However, its just ignoring the real problem. The reason I don't buy many new games is because they're $60. Thats crazy to me. I wait until games are half that and priced at $30. Common sense says that they must account for people buying used games in the original price of the game. They have to make up for the people who wait to buy in the original price to make the game worth buying. If they implement this used game fee shit and dip the original price of the games to $40 a pop, I won't care. Thats completely fair. I can't justify spending over half a hundred dollars every few weeks on a game. $40 I could live with.

Since when do people protest rumors. Let's wait for some solid information before we jump out of our pants.

An ounce of protection is worth two in the bush.

It's a lot easier for a company to change their minds beforehand. Retracting a feature is admitting defeat. Nobody wants to do that.

Meh if this is true I'll just pass on the PS4 and buy an even better gaming computer with the money I save so I don't really see a problem here. Also I wonder how this will affect renting a game if I have to pay fee each time I rent a game ( or whatever crap it is the X1 is doing) then count me out of console gaming for good.

Little update. A handful of Sony employees responding. Wouldn't it make them look good if they never planned it and then said this was why? Lol.

I'm calling it right now that it'll prolly have some form of DRM.
I'm hoping they will allow companies to choose if they want to use DRM or not at least then I'd know what games to avoid. Also that guy in your siggy is freaky.

Rule #1 - Kotaku is not a reliable source of information. Everything they write are speculations and made up crap just to increase traffic on their site.

Also hashtagging a tweet is fairly pathetic way to protest. "yay I pushed a button, I care!", no you don't. That's on the same level as thinking liking a post on facebook will cure cancer or hunger in third world countries. Sony doesn't care about your hashtags. All their responses are just polite ways to let you know that "we get it! stfu now please!". They will still do whatever they planned to do in the beginning and the only thing that will affect their decision is how people reacted to Microsofts DRM policy. That's the only thing that matters to them, not some hashtags one guy started to spread from his basement.
I mean, these tweets aren't doing anything to benefit the situation, just another form of pointless whining. They are not helpful at all, people give no insight into the problem, don't offer solutions, nothing. At least make a mob, compile a list of arguments against the DRM and common, possible solutions and bomb the Sony e-mails with letters.
