I should update this but all my effort went into writing this lousy excuse.
Conspiracy nuts never give documented proof, just excuses and tell you to "dig deeper" or "wake up"
i'd be really happy if mermaids were real specially if they can caught
one you know alive and kicking, i mean swimming![]()
Wish my girlfriend said that.
As for sonar testing, it has been well-documented for over half a decade. The federal and state government have repeatedly reprimanded sonar testing practices. If the existence of mermaids is a hoax, then the purpose of this conspiracy theory is to raise public awareness of the mass-slaughter of sentient marine life by military testing. If mermaids do exist... Then the conspiracy theory is to raise public awareness of genocide and leads to interesting questions about mermaids.
I think that at least some of the video is credible (EDIT: nope, the mermaids are all faked and the censorship is also faked), but if it isn't then this censorship is because of environmentalists trying to convince the public that the mass slaughter of whales and dolphins with 140-235 decibel sonar is similar to genocide, which the Navy takes offense at.
Oil/gas explorations disturb marine life hundreds of thousands of miles away. In 2008 George Bush declared Navy sonar exercises a national emergency. I do not think that the military cares whether mermaids exist or not... What they want to censor is people protesting sonar exercises. But as a gullible person who has been exposed to these conspiracy theories since childhood, I choose to believe in the existence of mermaids.Originally Posted by http://www.nrdc.org/wildlife/marine/sonar.asp
With the money spent on censorship, the Navy could have just made a computer simulation for Navy exercises that soldiers can train on without killing whales.... But if there is censorship but the videos are not censored then this means that the military does not care about whether we believe in mermaids or not - which leads me to look at the censorship images, which are hosted by the websites themselves and not mentioned on the Homeland Security website... I am disappointed. I honestly believe in mermaids, but... This entire censorship and mermaid-proof thing is faked like The Onion and my religious beliefs.
Reputation: 480Since we're on the topic, maybe in a way there is another form of intelligent life on the planet, but they're trapped deep below in the depths of the ocean. For the same reasons were trapped on the surface. Pressure. You know how we can't explore the ocean because of technology limits to pressure resistance? It could be the same for them.
Who knows though. Humans are just getting lonely, I suppose. There's life out there, but truth be told, said life should be weary of humans.
Reputation: 134I do think there is a lot more sea life to be discovered, we've only really explored about 5% of the ocean, there's a good chance that there are mermaid like creatures somewhere down there. But that doesn't change the fact that this documentary and its websites are complete horse shit.
I'm sure glad there's another conspiracy.
Reputation: 1151I'm confused about why the government would bother hiding mer-people from us. Like, I guess I can understand aliens because people would flip shit. But mermaids? Why bother? I mean, what are they gonna do? Flood the land and take back the planet?
Reputation: 134"It's a mocumentary. All the scientists were actors and the footage was CGI. But the show was pretty much exploring the "Aquatic Ape" theory and if it's possible for humans to have evolved in such a way."
Plus, who is this "government" which is trying to hide facts about Mermaids. This government clearly isn't just American, since there is no way every single "sighting" of mermaids was in the US; so who is this "world government" who hates mermaids, and are trying to hide them?
