In February, Justin Carter was playing “League of Legends” — an online, multiplayer fantasy game — when another player wrote a comment calling him insane. Carter’s response, which he now deeply regrets, was intended as joke.

“He replied ‘Oh yeah, I’m real messed up in the head, I’m going to go shoot up a school full of kids and eat their still, beating hearts,’ and the next two lines were lol and jk,” said Jack Carter, Justin’s father, in a statement to a local news channel.

so your saying this kid deserves to stay in jail for something he had no intention of doing anything no guns found no research found on his computer no underlying motives if you look at every mass shooting case like sandy hook he researched tons of information before doing it if this kid spends time in jail what do you think his life is going to be like? hard time finding a job depression probably will pick up a vice or two and then end up really doing harm to people i think he has gotten more then he deserves at this point this kid thought he was being funny his life is pretty much already ruined personally i think he wont make it in jail he will probably off himself

Freedom of speech does NOT include death-threats like this is the case. Death threats can and will be taken seriously.

This does not mean I agree he should be jailed though but seeing the circumstances, I doubt he's going to get away without problems easily.

I don't know what region you're playing in, but in the NA part I've never heard anything as bad as that, like I said sure there are kids who try to antagonize you, but I've never heard of anyone "In game" say anything as bad as that.


And I have been playing since beta, I played since it's release which was close to AION's, and my guild decided to switch over to League. I bought the physical copy of the game, which included the first 20 or something champions.

Evidence: it's on his facebook. That's all it takes for them to convict someone. The interrogation probably was something along the lines of 'tell us what happened in 2 words so we can go back to our normal routines and you'll be in jail'.

As for context, don't really have an aswer for that. They probably just cherry pick what's being said rather than interpreting the whole story so they don't have to work as much I guess.

Laziness doesn't justify right or wrong. They're a joke if that's what they really did. But it seems more like they wanted to defend their pride as law enforcement rather than actually delivering justice.

From a moral standpoint it can't be in good conscious that you would lock up your typical LoL gamer in a prison with hardened criminals for 5 months before deciding if he's innocent. Kid is going to get ***** and passed around as currency. Beaten up for not being monogamous to his gay partner and end up in solitary on suicide watch. Yea I bet he'll be looking forward to repaying society for our standard procedure when he gets out.

His father claimed he was already abused and had to be moved 4 times. Physical and mental health has already been risked. Like I said, this kid probably didn't have any intention of harming anyone. But now he might really consider the possibility.
