Default I just bought a new car, but need advice

I'm thinking about getting my money back. Shelled out 3 grand it runs amazing, however it has no title. Quite frankly it was an impulse buy.
The guy says it was given to him from a deceased relative, but he can't get the title cause there's a lien ?and I doubt anyone would post a stolenn car on craigslist with their actual address.any one know what I can do? I'm tempted to just put the plates on it from my Audi and just ride out as less as possible. Thing gets great mpg, in the mid 30s

I forget exactly how it works, but if their is a lien against it, then the bank really owns it until that debt is paid, so basically you paid for a car the bank can take away from you whenever they want and the original guy who borrowed the money has no incentive to pay off the debt since you have the car.

Get your money back. Never purchase a car if you cannot get ahold of the title because it's not legally yours until you do.

Seeing as the guy won't give me my money back, I'm about to send this car to a chop shop for more money than I paid. Well it was cool to have I guess. This car is worth almost 9 grand LOL. Talk about getting lucky

, back to the drawing boards. Thanks guys

Good job Trey. You checked yourself before you wrecked yourself -- almost literally!

It's a place where they usually take apart cars I think. That or they radically change cars like in that Discovery series of those 2 Indian guys.

Yeah its where they dismantle cars (often stolen) and then sell the parts.

Chop shops are just undercover places, like drug dealing locations. I've never seen one, but I do know that they dismantle the cars that come in to sell. Usually it's the really high end cars, but my dad knows a guy that associates with one and he offered me what I paid plus 2000 extra. He'll be here tonight to tow it.

The good part about all this is I actually have a higher budget, but gonna buy this suv with 24" rims and continue using my Audi during the winter. I really want a scion tc or impala ss around 05. So I'll keep looking.

I'm getting really tired of imports, but man Germans can make really good cars.

you should not buy a car if he don't have a title. it mostly like be stole from someone. The title what you need to register it to drive it even if you try to take it in they say it was stole.

if you take it in to be take apart make sure they go back to you if it does you mostly get trouble with the law
