Hey guys I can't really get into RO because it's obviously not noob friendly and I'm completely loss after going to the first town at level 10. So I decided to give latale a shot I'm a huge fan of 2d sidescrollers. I'm just wondering if anyone here has tried it out and could answer a question or two. First off how is the grind in the game is it super hard or not too bad? Also what character is the best overall strongest in the game?

The grind is a lot easier than it used to be, which to me makes to more fun. Any class can be good honestly, you just have to have the right stats and skills to fit your build. It all depends on your playstyle. Ex: Bladers are a good DPS class, but if you lag a lot then you will have a horrible time as that class.
LaTale got a major update about two months ago (Season 2) which completely revamped the game. It is now much easier to level and enjoy the game (Job change at level 50, and again at level 100 now). You can easily get into the game if you have never played before by following the quest line early on which gives you good exp and money. You can also party with other players by using the party search function by using the ] key ingame.
I have played LaTale since OB, and I still come back to it over time. I played DFO for 2 years until it closed and now im back to LaTale until Mystic Fighter Online goes OB.
LaTale is fun and all, easy to level and such.. but there is something you have to keep in mind: NPC Gear is garbage. Absolute garbage. I don't know the scene for finding newbs to do instants with you, but its little to none. You'll have to pay or find someone to carry you through those for the gear unless you can solo. Dungeon gear and then class sets are the best for newbs.
Now, here comes the scaling. Maybe you can find parties for coli but it would give you like no wolf tears and such. Coli gear is the best until darkness arguably.. I mean at 150 you can get adv vintor but you have to pay 15m+ a run and hope for pieces. Coli gear.. well if you buy the tears and stuff.. 50m?+ And then stones for upgrading.. like 2 stones per upgrade at +1-+2, ect. Each stone is 1m.
Now if you want fashion.. Well pull out your wallet. Toma Sets are like 60m so I guess that works, but for anything more its 200m+ for ishu. I mean you can buy astros since almost all astro items are tradable, the the issue with new characters with no funding or anything is that its hard as hell to get ely. Quests give a lot now, but you dont get any good repeatables until like 150+. Most people are funders/start with spending astros. If you get prime xp holy water (500% exp for 10 hours) most just get to 100 in a day, some 120 if gear funded.
It's just really.. astro centered. Real money centered, unless someone gives you ely. The only real good way to get ely is like 180+ grinding with... prime ely waters which are 17m...
it's "causual" if you just dont think about coli or anything.. but.. Uh.. The gear wall is pretty high. Pets can even be bought, but like I said.. >_>
Just sayin, I love the game, but i've spent astros so - 1 astro = 350k ely.. So if you drop $50 on astros and sell tradable stuff like darts or pet herbs and get that 300m+.. Well then, you'll be fine if you see what I mean lmao.
