    Default Anyone still playing Allods?

So it has been months since I've quit WoW and since then I haven't really played another MMORPG. My laptop's not good enough for TERA or RIFT and I doubt it'd be good enough for Aion so I'm thinking of playing Allods again. It has been a long time though and I've heard next to nothing about it lately on these forums. Is anyone still playing it? Is it worth picking up again?

I'd wait and see what their sub based server is going to be like since the cash shop for that game was always kinda iffy.

I could recommend the old private server I used to play on thats still fairly active and has pretty good rates. The only thing is that the game is dreadfully boring unless you play in a group/guild from the start.

    That forbidden!

Allods is a well polished game. Maybe one day I'll actually try to max out on it

I really liked Allods actually. I played it 100% solo except for that first instance. After a while the game got too hard for solo play, though. So I felt forced to quit. It was fun, though, I don't regret playing it.

So which server is more populated ? Ping wise it's best for me to be on EU since I'm .. well from EU but I heard EU is rather empty .. it is true ? The Russian server is FULL to the max free and subscription one. It's one of THE best game out there although it's not much advertised.Cash shop isn't a problem right now anymore because they introduces a LOT of new systems, changed a lot of stuff and it's not p2w anymore. There is one thing that's good to pay for though.Level 13 runes. That's the max level for runes and they play a big part in late game PvP.If you want to be more than the average player you have to have at least lvl 9 runes which are hard to farm for.Takes too long thats my point.

Ping wise it doesn't matter where you play. I am from Eastern Europe but I played on US servers with the same latency as it was on EU. Last time I played, 2-3 years ago, EU was less populated than US. No idea how things have changed but I've been thinking of jumping in the game again depending on how they handle the subscription model. Many people think it's a suicidal thought, but the reason this has happened was because there obviously was a demand for it and has been a huge success on Russian servers.

Either way, when they introduce it to US version I play again. Even if I just test the model about and don't get hooked by the game again.

EDIT: Regarding runes. Level 9 set of runes is sufficient for a good amount of end-game raiding content and is more than possible to farm with gold from daily quests and little auctioning. Level 13 or whatever is max is not necessary. You must understand that every single one of us who will play won't probably even be close to the level cap or to the point where we slowly need to start saving up for runes.
All this discussion is pointless unless you, right now, are in the situation you are describing. It's a pipe dream we are discussing here. Theoretically, yes, lvl 13 runes requires an enourmous commitment and most likely to spend some money. But realistically I doubt that even a single person here has gotten even lvl 4 runes (which is batshit crazy easy to get). I got lvl 4 set of runes @lvl38 or something.

It's only forbidden if I give the name out publically, which I never said I'd do but yeah as marcipaans said, a lot of the game comes down to how much time and commitment you want to put into the game yourself. Past that, well it's a whole other story.
