Do managers discriminate when it comes to education?

Ok, as of late I've been applying for jobs. I'm only two semesters away from finishing my degree and it seems I could never get hired. So I've stopped listing my secondary education. It's weird, but as soon as I did, I've gotten job offers within days of dropping my application. Before I wouldn't even get calls. I recall reading that some jobs won't hire because of over qualifications, but I'm far from that right now in my opinion. What do you guys think?

If you're currently attending school, it may be that they don't want to hire someone that would require working around a school schedule? Otherwise, I'm not sure. The over-qualification thing may be true for retail/fast food type jobs, as managers may feel that having someone else with a degree may be a threat to their position as it is often the case that the only requirement to get a manager position in those types of jobs is to have some sort of college education. A majority of companies make it a policy not to hire managers if they haven't gone to college, even if that person has been working at the store for a decade. And the only thing probably keeping your managers job their job is that they are hiring people that only have a HS Diploma or GED.
