I just finished reading the Great Gatsby and it was full of hope, overambitious and in the end, as a book, it ultimately failed.
Just like Gatsby.

After that I watched the movie and aside from the dialogue picked from the book, it was horrible garbage.
Again, full of hope, overambitious and ultimately a massive failure.

Still waiting... and I agree with Ronin fully. American culture started slipping in the wrong direction when someone decided that garbage was a masterpiece.

Really, that is what made american culture slip... Not twilight or the vampire fiction in general that's been coming up in the recent ages.
