    I just finished reading the Great Gatsby and it was full of hope, overambitious and in the end, as a book, it ultimately failed.
    Just like Gatsby.

    After that I watched the movie and aside from the dialogue picked from the book, it was horrible garbage.
    Again, full of hope, overambitious and ultimately a massive failure.

    The Hobbit was my favorite book.

    I did read it, and I didn't like it. All the criticisms and commentaries and hidden meanings aside, I just found it utterly boring.
