    Default Nostalgia sucks

The past couple of days, my mind keeps defaulting to nostalgia mode, thinking about all the good times I've spent in the many games I've enjoyed.

Stuff like my first few days in Age of Wushu, where I picked up on the ins-and-out of the combat system quite fast, was able to explore amazing and beautiful Chinese cities.

Or the time my friend Ame and I got sucked into the sun in our home system while we were trying to travel through our first worm hole in Shores of Hazeron.

My first time coming across a player-made city in SWG, and the first time I met a Jedi and how mind blown I was.

Exploring Lion's Arch in GW2 for the first time, one of the most beautiful and unique in-game locations I've ever visited in a game.

Running across a couple of fellow Stalkers in Stalker Online (now S-Zone), and how they warned me of some player bandits that they had noticed further up the road I was traveling. The wars we had with the corrupt GM and his guild of ass holes.

Wurm Online, the first time I played with a group of friends and we ran into a snake that we eventually killed, after all three of us had died at least ten times each. Or the epic struggle we had trying to carve out a little bit of peace and quiet in the chaotic Elevation continent in the Jenn-Kellon ragion.

Mortal Online, where it seemed like everyone on the sever was pissed off at our guild for one reason or another. All the epic sieges we took part in.

And it goes on and on.

So, the point of this thread? Mention some of your most nostalgic moments in any game. Be as detailed or brief as you like.

I've had far too many to recall all of them but I can just post a few of the brief ones.

My first real character in World of Warcraft Vanilla was a Tauren Shaman and I can recall how painstakingly hard it was to not only level up normally but doing each of the totem quests being a real pain in the rear. But man hitting 60, and being able to do Onyxia and MC were just the greatest things for me at the time, specially with the really shitty rig I had.

Playing the original Everquest for an hour or so on dial up on my cousin's PC because he wanted to show me what MMOs were since I was still pretty young. Just going through and playing around while he walked me through it was pretty much blew my young mind.

Getting FFXI on the PS2 and seeing how shitty/fun it was with how bad Dial up still was is easily one of the funniest and yet most memorable time periods in my life up until I got into WoW when it came out.

If it's not limited to MMOs, then I can still recall playing the first Tenchu game on PSX and just falling in love with how awesome the gameplay was, just moving around and stealth killing all the guards without being seen. It got even better with the later games because they started introducing elements like sound and smell, making it even more fun to mess with and play around in.

    That tittle was so misleading...

I've played almost every free MMORPGs, and I'm not exaggerating. There's a lot of good memories, and bad ones, but My most nostalgic Game must have been Grand Fantasia. It was one of those games where meeting people was awesome the sprite system was a unique feel. The grinding was harsh, but with friends it didn't matter. Now with the low player-base It can't, and wont be saved...

Seriously? I was never able to keep a friend on runescape for over a week without somebody trying to steal my cash stack. haha. I hated the community.

Nostalgia sucks. Though every once in a while I'm guilty of popping on my old youtube channel and looking back into the past. Hard to believe I ended up proposing to the girl I proposed to in Maplestory 6 years ago.

Nostalgia is great but you know... It's More Than a Feeling.

I often look back things like:
Being taught to potion duplicate items in the original Diablo.
Classic RuneScape. PKing before it was interface warfare and REAL drop parties.
First month in WoW. Exploration was awesome.

But my best memory is beating Super Mario 3 for the first time. My mom and cousins played it a ton but I did it first.

    Just look back and smile.
