    Default World of Warcraft

So, my wife convinced me to play World of Warcraft again after a break of almost 2 years.
Dear god... does this game suck. It's outdated and imbalanced as ever. If you ever have a moment of weakness and think about resubbing don't.

The newer "WoW Clones" have evolved to the point that they eclipse the original in everything.

I am thinking about deleting every character on the account to make sure I never play it again.

Dunno about you guys but I'd rather sub to Allods than sub to WoW.

It feels like a more mature version of Blizzard's offering, to be honest. Then again, I never really liked WoW from the beginning.

Honestly, my biggest gripe with the game is how freaking dogshit the lore has gone. It's literally trope after trope in the most mary sue generic bullshit way possible. Can't wait to see who they butcher even more in the next expansion.

This about sums it up for me. When I played WoW back in Vanilla/BC, it wasn't able to keep my attention past level 45, but at least I felt like I was immersed in a great story up til that point. Now when I read about how things are going, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to take any aspect of the game seriously.

Prior to Warcraft, waaaaay back, my favorite game was RuneScape. Why?
It was the first MMO I had played. With nothing to compare it to I thought it was the greatest game on Earth.
Then I played WoW and realized how bad RuneScape really was.
I guess the same thing has happened with WoW.

I don't agree with you. I still think WoW is one of the best MMORPGs available. Prove me wrong.

Not troll bait, just my opinion. If you think I am wrong, then give your own arguments (no, "It sucks" is not an argument, sorry), or be silent.

WoW is far from being a perfect game, but comparing to the other stuff currently available on the market I still regard it as one of the best. It just does more things right than it does wrong.

which is exactly why there aren't any ground breaking mmos out right now, wow ruined the genre with its cookie cutter game.
but, thankfully, the upcoming ones e.g black desert/eqn/wildstar looks pretty strong.

You say it ruined the genre, I say it provided me with many hours of entertainment, much more and much higher quality entertainment than 99% of the other MMOs in the market, so I'm happy with the way things turned out.

Also, EQN does look good and I'm looking forward to it. The others, not so much.

I quit the game 3 months ago and I moved onto FFXIV:ARR and I don't miss it. The game was watered down that anyone can do PVE content with little to no effort. And with the newest raid out, my friend who is really into PVE, says the content is still the same as the last patch. Same ol' boring shit.

In terms of PVP, which I was really good at (hit Gladiator 4 times), the game is imbalanced. BM Hunters are still rampant, Frost Mages got their well deserved nerf, Mistweaver Monks are still OP, Paladins are too strong now that they have a fear on a 15 sec cd, Holy Priest have the mobility of a fighter jet (constant 80% running speed, it's impossible to catch them) along with strong heals, Warriors are back to god mode since they were brought down to a level that toddlers can play them. Elemental Shamans can kill a person in a global, UH Death Knight has too much offensive pressure when they have their cooldowns up. Anyways, the game is too bursty in pvp and the balancing will never happen. The list goes on and on and on.

Game is trash and I've had enough of it. Before I quit last season, all I ended up doing was logging on to talk to people cause the game was too boring.

Games not bad tho lol thats the thing everyone just complains and says it is, it dumbed down for casual players not everyone has time to spend on playing video games. Like raiding not everyone was able to raid including myself cuz of school and they introduced Looking for raid best feature out, i was finally able to do raids in cata even tho i did raid during cata that was the only expansion pack i was really able to do anything at max lvl besides dungeons and pvp

I'm not trolling it at all. I've played the game for 6 years.

I played the game for 3 years, and I played it when it was still in Beta, actually got BETA key for WoW years ago lol..

Used to farm with guild and wipe for hours in, Molten Core, Blackwing Lair, and Ahn'Qiraj, those were fun times... now you can solo the instances or duo lol...

Game used to be super hard, you had to actually work for stuff, now they just give you everything.... and made everything easy mode.

Still WoW has the most content from any MMO out there.

Really though, it's Blizzard's handling of server populations and the band aid that is Cross Realms Merging that was the final straw. I think think there should be 3 tiers of servers - high population, mid population, and low population (with nothing but cross realm BGing/non-current tier raiding/dungeons allowed). As it is right now, there's about 5 high population servers (10k+), maybe 15 mid population servers (5k+), and a shit ton of pretty much dead realms for PvE (one of the main points of WoW).

They seriously need to kill off about half their realms and give everyone not in the 10k+ servers a free transfer to the new ones instead of the "sinking ship" system they have in place now where people have to pay to fix a problem caused by Blizzard.
They are doing a sue-do server merger with dead realms by just connecting them so people can keep their names and such. As for the multiples of the same item comment, I mean really? Yea, screw Blizzard for giving people options so they can raid with friends or varying groups sizes. They completely ruined the game by giving people options. Clearly they implemented this poorly because they still require some group coordination, and did not give change it to the classic insert round peg into round hole system that is required. Really they should be ashamed that they helped make is easier for their millions of customers to experience content that would otherwise be gated to only a small percentage of players. Shut down World of Warcraft and pave way for one of the great titles that can only match in quality one of the game systems or content while screwing everything else. This is all their fault that developers keep trying to content features of the game that they copied from others, while refusing to innovate outside of the current systems.

    SHAME ON BLIZZARD.

Yeah I'm well aware of the CRM, but guess what? They were either short sighted or downright stupid if they thought it was a good idea for different realms (WITH DIFFERENT AUCTION HOUSES) to share the same resource nodes. Competing with another server member whose going to post that item on YOUR AH is part of the game, but competing with other people who posted it an AH you can never access? Yeah, real balanced.

As for the item variations I was talking about, I wasn't talking about the quality (I.E. LFR, Normal, Heroic), I was talking about the additional RNG they added (I.E. Thunderforged/Warforged). So yeah, before you get on your soap box you might wanna check for clarification first.

I've heard about the virtual merge, but that was only born out of the cluster**** that was CRZ. At the end of the day, we've still been subject to the broken and literally bugged mess that is CRZ for the better part of what, a year now? And it's still ongoing.
