    Default DC Universe Online?

do a couple years back i played DCUO once on my ps3 once on PC but i never really got into it. i tried a few different chars but never got attached. i want to try it again but have a few questions.
1)PS3 or PC? population wise and just in general
2)is it worth it for free players? do i need the cash shop to be useful?
3)is anyone here playing or want to play?
any other information people find useful would be awesome! thanks in advance.

i played on ps3, but the pc servers are probably more populated.

i played completely free and raided as a f2p, but i suggest you do buy the power expansions because they're fun?

the game is very different from your standard mmo in terms of how dungeons work etc. it's pretty awesome.

you can do good as a free player it seems like sonys game aren't that pay to win. But of course there is some limits. Like you gotta buy the xpacks for example

Pay for a month, create characters with new powers/weapons, sub expires, play for free as Premium user. That's my suggestion.

only thing tats terrible as a free user is the cash cap ... its just terrible , unless they removed it
i got a lifetime membership but didn't touch it cause my friends wont pay for it , so i didn't play it for 6 months now , i'm thinking of going back to try the new powers

Actually the cash limit is the biggest problem in the game , you need it mostly to repair gear and buy hp sodas , most of the time the repairs exceed the cash limit going over too 10.000+ so you start dying more since you dont have the money for repairs , if they removed it or at least raise it to 50.000-100.000 i bet they would see a huge rise in the playerbase . But they are too stubborn and they will most likely remove it when they see the game slowly dying ...

now to just spend that random ass 550 station cash i have(i literally have no idea where it came from as i don't play any SOE games) the skeleton bird mask and wings looks pretty bad ass and those together is 400. they have a few things for 100 but idk what they do.

I still play on PS3, but I'm pretty sure they're around the same with PC having a slight advantage.

Free to play users can get up to T4 raid (The game only goes up to T5)
The cash problem isn't really there, if you have some sort of brain. You'll never really run out of money to repair. just keep 3 weak equips at all times, repair your items then sell those weak equips and fix the rest.
If anything the only problem with the cash limit is that you can't build/make exobits well. You'll probably see that as a problem late late in to raiding/pvping.
F2P users, well it'll feel alittle lonely (if you're not caught up in the game) because the game restricts a lot of the social aspects w/o legendary. But if you're a solo player, you'll have tons to do. Yes I personally think it's worth it for free players. You pretty much get the same thing as a platnium users (you just miss alittle social aspects trading items and etc)

The game was fun , and I had lvl 30 archer/sorc healer , then dropped the game , and after a long time came back just to find that my char was gone , checked eu and us servers anyway had huge lagspikes , and sometimes would be hitting mobs with them taking no dmg

I played it on PC still have it installed but it feels like it was built for console and feels sloppy in terms of pc gameplay

it only feels weird if you use a keyboard seeing as it was built with a controller in mind. i just use my ps3 controller and it plays fine and i can run it in highest settings which ps3 can't. also premium members get more chat privileges then free just not everything like legendary.

I played DCUO on ps3 got to 81 Combat Rating with my ice tank, I was free to play but had purchased all the expansions eventually the cash cap is a killer and practically forces you to subscribe as you don't have enough cash to repair your gear or to put mods in it enhancing your combat rating. Not to mention the lockboxes you cant open unless your subbing.

Luckily I had great friends who helped me out quite a lot with cash so I was able to stay F2p/Premium. Other than that the game is brilliant I loved it infact I still crave to play it but im currently subbed to Eve online otherwise I would sub to DCUO and most of my friends who played it have moved on. If I was to start again on it tho I would sub to it as you get much more use out of the game, here is my question tho if I bought expansions on the ps3 would they be unlocked on the PC?

No, as your account is directly connected w/ PSN. You won't even be able to use that account on the pc version.
I keep hearing repair, that's not a problem. Keep like 3 equips and sell them when you gotta fix your ish. The problem is the mods/exobytes.
Money isn't too much of a problem in this game, there's little to no use for it.(other then purchasing exobytes.)

Why are the citizen NPCs always running? Even if nothing is happening, as soon as I get close to one with my character, they scream and start running (and not away from me, either)

If something came running at me, I'd scatter. If something was flying at me, I'd dodge roll out of the block.

    My impression of DCUO.

The combat is pretty smooth. Customization possibilities are very high. The story is interesting. BUT...
The huge open game world feels dead. There's no city feel. The enemies spawn fast and in masses and run around randomly.
Despite the really good things, in the end feels like a mediocre Asian MMO.

I would say PASS on DCUO.

A bunch of people on mIRC and Skype told me DCUO is a good game if you're a casual player.

So sure, give it a shot.
    Games I currently play:

    Cosmic League
    Minecraft
    Warframe
    Lost Saga

Waiting for: Overwatch, Maplestory 2, and Rakion 2.

So I just downloaded the game. I imagine my original characters are crap, so what kind of character would be good for solo or small group PVP?

    Lol, that question confuses me.
All characters can dps well (Quantum and Sorcery are alittle on the UP side)
Group pvp, well Controllers are slightly strong in small group pvp. But that's about it.

Main: Hero side - Little Cerabella
    Villains - Suppression
    I'm also on ps3... so
