As for rooting, the N7 is king of it for the tablets. **** it up? Flash again, it's virtually impossible to hardbrick it. Something happened to your tablet while having it rooted or modded? Asus will gladly repair it for you under warranty without *****ing. N7 also gets priority on a lot of Android updates.
Kindle doesn't do really do this. The custom Android-version also slows the device down.
Don't forget that Oisterbro is going to get the cheapest version of the Kindle. Have fun with your ads on your screensaver.
