Should humans be given the ability to toggle when they feel pain?

Bad idea.
Look at those who are immune to pain, it seems great, but because of so they tend to have very short lifespans.
For every one time pain annoys you, there are about a hundred times it saves you from disfiguring yourself.

The people who are immune to pain can't toggle on or off when they can feel it. My hypothetical scenario indicates that what if humans have the ability to decide when to feel pain.
