Some simple answers from a simple CoH/CoV player:

You don't NEED both, but you get an extra 2 (or was it 4?) character slots if you have both

They are both stand alone games

Its 15$ a month as you probably know (theres also an every 3 month, every 6 month, and every year payment plan, with the yearly being cheapest at 11.29$ or something like that)

Same as what Revolver said, depends on if you like the game enough to pay or not, I know there was a 14 day trial thing, but maybe that ended

If you have both, you don't end up paying 30$ a month, it stays at 15 with no extra fees

Plus, you can FLY!

Matrix online is AWFUL. It was good for the week sega owned it. CoV is great. I recently started playing again on Protector. Buy it, not Matrix

Uh, MxO? Get CoH or CoV trust me, way better than MxO.

But as of right now I cancelled my Coh/CoV account and starting up my MxO account again. So its just which one interests you more.

I don't like to bad mouth any MMO really, I mean hell I play and love Auto Assault! But, MxO has got to be the worst MMO I ever played. Did they like remake the entire game or something? :|

As far as I know MxO hasnt changed much.
It's still a "bad" mmo in alot of peoples eyes, but I've only played it for a short period of time so it still has it's charm for me.

I'm not sure about Matrix Online but I tried CoV and CoH in my opinion they were both pretty bad.
