Try Divinity: Original Sin. Although the story is not its strong suit, it's an incredibly deep RPG.

But but... he said action based combat?
How about any of the Ys games?
Reputation: 198yea I'm not really a fan of turn-based RPG games~ only games I've played that were turn-based were FF7 and FF12 and even those were arduous. real-time combat where you can dodge attacks is more to my tastes.
I'll check out Of Orcs and Men.
oh, and I'm also up for any FPS-based or third-person based games that are story driven and you can allocate skill points/stat points to build your character up.
so anything like:
Devil May Cry
Remember Me
Dead Space
Lost Planet
Metro
Max Payne
How about the Bioshock series?
Reputation: 198yea played the **** outta all 3~ (first one the best, then third one, then second one)
kinda wanna try other fantasy-based or cyberpunk-based FPS shooters. How is Singularity? any fun? maybe I'll also take up Half Life 2...haven't played that game at all.
there was also that one game where you play a female character wielding double blades and she seemed to have tattoos that glowed when fighting....forgot the name though.
Can't really say that are excellent games, but:
Divinity 2 has action combat.
Also Risen 1-3 (Risen 3 was actually released just a few days ago!).
And the Gothic series too (newest one "Arcania - Gothic 4" released 2010, add-on 2011).
Hey cool.. didn't know about the release of Risen 3. I hope it will be as good as the first one.
Another great series is Mass Effect.![]()
i'm sort of in the same boat as you, but i've been occupying myself with some BF4 or some Ultra Street Fighter IV.
just waiting untill destiny and dead rising 3 release, then it's basicly one or 2 releases a months for a while.
anyway, i suggest :
Shovel Knight
Metal Gear Rising
Unepic
Delver
The Last Remnant
Magicite
Faster Than Light
Risk Of Rain
and i can't believe no one said this yet, Dark Souls 1 and 2.
just did some scrolling across my steam library and took ones that sorta fit the criteria.
also, the game with the girl that dual wields is called X-blades.
