If you were a modern girl, would you still need guys to marry u to have kids or not?

It just struck me that the rise of the modern, independent career girl could create changes in how relationships + families work.

for example, imagine you are a modern independent career girl. you have your own money. you are completely confident in your own financial self-sufficiency for your entire lifetime. In fact, like many guys, you are so confident you are even willing to finance the raising of your own baby. You do not need a husband to help look after the baby financially.

In this circumstance, what happens to the role of a guy? His role as a financial provider is technically no longer needed.

So in a modern society, what is the guys role? Well, given he no longer has the power of providing money in return for conjugal bed rights (ie: regular sex), then all a guy does is really provide the sperm for the baby, and help be the father figur eint he family. That's it. The girl no longer requires him to sleep with her every night unless she wants him to have sex with her every night or something.

Then the girl and guy begins wondering: "Wait a minute. If all Im doing to providing sperm/egg once, and being a father/mother figure, why should we even bother staying attached sexually?" Why cant a girl just have one guy father the child she wants, then she can go off and sleep with any other guys she wants? Why cant the guy think the same thing?

Would you feel society will one day transform into that state?

Where everyone just sleeps with anyone they want. No one stays in one bed with the same person all the time. And everyone just keeps switching whenever they want?

Short answer: yes.

Slightly longer answer: Let's be serious and leave the jokes aside. Having the flue sucks, Having the flue as a single mum, while your kid has the flue too sounds like an unpleasant scenario. I mean you don't have to marry to have kids, or have kids at all, but to give the kid what it needs, all the time and not just when the sun shines and holidays are coming up... I would assume it just gets a lot easier when you aren't doing it 100% on your own.

The premise of the thread sounds like every male person on the globe is a ******, that no one could stand being with for longer than some limited hours.
What's with the obsession with ****ing as many different people as possible anyways? There must be something to it I am not getting, as I simply don't see the point.
