Finally got the battery for this damn laptop charged, took three straight hours of peddling to get enough power to type up this first log.
Today was an odd day, It started simply enough moving from building to building gathering what could be useful. When I heard shouting. To my surprises there was a man and woman arguing in the street, and I mean going at it, ringing the dinner bell for the zeds. The thing was...nothing showed up. It was perfectly still besides the couple. "Hello there." I said moving from my hiding spot hands raised. The man raised a gun ready to kill, "Who are you?" he said. "Nobody" I replied, it was clear he wasn't expecting that answer. "I'm not here to hurt anyone, in fact perhaps we can do a little trading." I said calmly, fiddling with something before taking off my backpack. "What did you just do?" the woman asked. "Disarmed my trap."
"Trap?" she asked looking puzzled. "Explosives in the pack, keeps it from being stolen from my corpse, in case my other trap doesn't work." I replied.
"How many traps do you have?" The man asked. "Other than the one I just explained, I've got a dead man's switch set up to detonate my pack upon death." I grinned at this point, it unnerved them."Saves someone the ammo for not having to put me down." We traded supplies, I was low on meds but had excess ammo, don't like guns, too loud.
Ok now get this, the second we finish trading a car goes hauling ass by, blasting music, clearly blind to the world around them. I think it was Iron Maiden, either way, as they go zoomin' by we look from the direction they came from, and it's like life decided to kick me in the ass. Two to three thousand zeds all shamblin' our way, time to close up shop. Tipping my imaginary hat I leave them with the kindly tip of "Run for your lives!". Moving quickly I shifted into a nearby alley, pulling my grapnel from my pack I begin the process of escape. Tossing My clawed savior up to the smallest building, hearing it latch, I gave it a tug, tying my bag to the other end I began my climb. Reaching the roof top I pull up my bag and watch as the dead follow my cold trail.
Scanning the roof top I noticed no entrances to the roof other than a ladder, thankfully they can't climb, but for the time being I'm stuck here. Maybe I can get back to base tomorrow, not like I can't wait em out. I didn't realized I was so hungry, must of been the Adrenaline.
I should save some battery, might need to update again before I get home. not smart to waste it like this.
(This is part 1 of a 5 part story, I will update this post with future updates. I will try to update it though to halloween and beyond if need be. Please feel free to give Constructive Criticism. Also apologies if this is not the right forum for this, but figured the lounge would be appropriate. This story is a special gift to you guys at onrpg and I guess mmohut too. Happy halloween everyone)
