    Clean build?
    If not, what motherboard and PSU do you have?

    Either way, right now it's a i5-4690k and a GTX970. You should be able to get this for around 600USD.

    Yes, let him buy the card with the coil whine issue's that happens 40% of the time

    The problem here is that you have ridiculously sensitive ears. :/

    Most coil whine isn't noticeable in a proper case with stock or higher fan settings.

    No, the coil whine is kind of awful with these cards. You'd need a PC that makes aircraft sounds to not be able to notice it, or permanently wear headphones when you're gaming. I would say replace the stock VGA cooling with a liquid panel, but...yeah... Not exactly something you should do if you already have to ask on a forum what's the best combination (Directed towards the topic creator).

    Uncle R- Hamster* and Ryukiri have very sensitive ears keep that in mind hotdogbunzz

    thanks to the sensitivity I could hear a stealthed mobile suit dashing towards me and avoid the back attack on SDGO!

    can you guys hear that weird squeeking sound the gas stove makes? it's so annoying I can hear it from the other room..
