Default Not sure MMO's are working for me anymore but I'm not sure what else to play either

I had a huge post all set up here and then we lost power, so...in the interest of not driving myself absolutely crazy trying to type out a small essay again:

TLDR: I'm trying to find an MMO that is basically a single player game. I enjoy playing MMO's over single player games because of the ability to interact with other people, be it in the form of auction houses, crafting exchanges, guild chats, etc. Only problem is that I despise raiding, and that always seems to be what end game boils down to. Tried FF14 for two months now, love it but am now finding that pretty much all my progress is bottled into raiding if I want to keep going. Can't progress my relics anymore and honestly a little tired of leveling classes to 50 since I can't do anything with them once I get there, their stories just end. I can work on some new relic weapons, which is cool, but you inevitably end up back for raiding again.

I've played pretty much every main stream (and many not so main stream) MMO out there right now and in the end it always comes down to raiding it seems.

Any ideas on what to do?

    Entropia Universe
Grouping is entirely optional at all levels of the game.
The maps are big enough that even though it has a healthy population for a non-mainstream game, most people who try it out think the population is low. (turn on rookie chat if you want to socialize while away from populated areas)

Wait for FFXIV's expansion, it's what I'm doing.

I would suggest planning NOT to play an MMO for the long term. When going into an MMO, expect to spend a few weeks, perhaps a month or so. Perhaps if it's really good, you may spend 2 to 4 months in it. Rarely you'll come into a game and play it for a long time, but this is (usually) because of the group of friends you made in the MMO and not because the game itself is that good.

    Check out some sandbox MMOs.
    Wurm Online
    Mortal Online
    Darkfall Unholy Wars
    Life is Feudal
    etc...

All of these are quite different than your usual MMO experience. None of these has "raiding" as the end-game. If anything, you could say the end-game is "Sieging" in most of them, but even that isn't accurate.

I haven't given it a try yet but I heard Star Wars: The Old Republic is pretty good if you want single player in an MMORPG.
