Why do people like Clannad?

I watched like four or five episodes and I couldn't go any farther. I don't see the appeal at all. The art is bad, the drama is over-the-top, nothing happened except two moronic anime characters met and talked. I'm actually surprised there are a lot of guys that sit through that. If you guys like that, you should check out the soap operas my mom watches.

Feel free to bash the anime in this thread. Any praise will be considered an attempt to antagonize me and therefore be null because there's no actual way you like the anime. It's just not logical.

Sailor Moon is good in every aspect. Not a fan of Naruto because it's not my kinda genre, but even I can admit why there is appeal to that show.

I like Clannad because the story-line is pretty good. I heard of it awhile back from someone telling me I should watch it and bet me not to shed a tear during it. I won the bet because it was trying too hard to be sad. I am not saying it wasn't good but the drama was over the top at times.

The story of Clannad makes me like it, the over-the-top drama I just ignore for the most part.
