That's pretty nice of Microsoft. Windows 8 isn't bad and I've been using it since it was released but many people seem to think of it as being as bad or worse than Vista. So I can see why Microsoft would want to give it out for free to help repair their reputation.

Windows 8 will have a similar something to subscription based shit, though. Some microsoft representative mentioned it yesterday at work. The things that aren't in win10 will be mediaplayer, paint and some other shit that some people occasionally use, and you'll have to buy it or something. Atleast that's how I understood it from the guy that gave us the whole announcement.

windows 8 is pretty good, with a third party app to give me back my start menu and load to desktop automatically (thx zom).
