Only the game has been in CBT testing since October 2013 (in korea) and has released in korea early 2014 if I recall correctly.

So the game isn't a beta game at all, the only beta testing being done to the english version is the translation, more or less.

I am REALLY liking Black Desert Online.

the thing is the game is amazing but it is not for everyone ... its not a game where u will be farming dungeons and etc at the end game its a game where u will need to find best places for trading , best places for getting resources , best things to farm and i mean FARM like in having a farm and guild wars for zones , castles and such ... the game is definitely not for everyone and cant be judged by the lvling stage ...

There can off course be bugs in an english version or w/e, but the core of the game remains unchanged and that is really what makes the game or not. So even though it's a "beta" it's kinda not. Cause the game has been finished (in it's core, not counting content updates that are normal for an mmo etc) long enough to simply feel like a complete game when it's released outside of korea.

Bought the game, controls are really choppy on the pc, since not everything responds the way I want to. Till I'm used to that I'm going to stick to training and after that arcade mode before I go online. Atleast I've managed a 46 hit combo juggle.

The game is still unfinished. They haven't implented certain systems, still a lot of bugs/glitches, only a few classes and I can do go on and on. Even without that the game wouldn't be finished, considering a finished mmo is a mmo thats not going to get anymore relevant updates~

Seriously..the graphic is very nice and it runs smooth too + the combat is fun but I always
have this feeling around me that this game is nothing special at all and after playing
beta to max I can say that...The sandbox elements are a joke compared to real sandbox
games and even the world has some bad details like Clone NPC's who are moving in
large groups from town to town and so on...It just feels not that good even when its
shiny and so on. I enjoyed ToS so much more than this and they are super different.
I am all into sandbox games and doing trade stuff and so on but I think there are
better mmorpg out there than this shiny thing

I've been following the game since it's original announcement. I've been playing this version since Alpha, and there have been many improvements. The launch of this game is going to be way more solid then what I've played from CBT1.

They're still working out a lot of balancing, but they quickly went from an Alpha version that had a lot of work to do, but was interesting, to a CBT1 version where all the testers involved are unable to stop playing with just the limited features. The world chat is always being flooded with players saying this game has a lot of promise.

Korean BDO and NA/EU BDO are going to be significantly different in their mechanics imo.

yeah but I play GW and games like this game should be and it has not so much to offer than other
games in that genre. I am not a noob dude...I mean you were in Mabinogi with me...Mabi is still one of the top sandbox mmorpgs. You should know that I know exactly what BD wants to be. It just feels
not right right now.

I know they will update BD a lot + there will be much more stuff to do in OB or release but right
now its not very good..just shiny

I dunno about Mabi being a "top sandbox mmorpg" anymore, I've played since 07-08' and it's 'sandbox' features are relatively pointless in the long run and don't really make any impact on anything now, crafters aren't entirely necessary anymore since X-grade items that they'd be making their profits off of keep being thrown into gachapons...Life skills are mostly time/gold sinks and ranked entirely for the extra stats. The game has just been trying to go the traditional MMO-route in terms of content for the past few years and I'm not even sure what to classify it as anymore
