They might release a HD patch , who knows , but this was known for about 3 months now that they downgraded it .
I don't really expect it to look like in these Gifs but i still like how the game looked in the recent gameplay videos.

witcher 2's approach to lighting was maximalist as fvck. throw blinding amounts of bloom on everything. geralt looks like he has a fvcking police flashlight inside his face at night. also when u go into combat the graphics are downgraded.

They actually have an excuse for the foliage saying that this is dynamic and will interact when you move through it. I don't know why that required making it look like shit but that's what they are going with.

lol. are these the same jokers who created the saying "30 fps makes it look more cinematic"?
rather then watching it interact with my character it makes me want to evade the foliage completely.

Adjust the Gamma, Saturation, Contrast, Levels and add some Sharpening effect via SweetFX or a similar program and it'll look pretty much as the screen on the right. Not that the one on the left looks worse in any way though, it's not fair to judge two screenshots from two different areas to begin with.

Not sure what you're so butthurt about, there's plenty of gameplay footage out there that shows how the game will actually look, it's not a conspiracy like you're trying to make it to be.

That's because the benchmark doesn't go by FPS anymore .

It was on the official site where you downloaded the benchmark that the way they score it is different now.
It's more based on overall benchmark performance and not so much on FPS drops/high's.

On my benchmark with my 6 year old PC I even made it to 6000 points total, the old benchmark i got stuck around 2k orso at most.

I'll test this. My old system with the i7 3770k and 660TI did about 6.5k on the old benchmark. I wonder how it will react with my new one.

You should get a pretty decent score.

I ran the benchmark on a Q6600 with a 650TI boost (slightly below 660 clock speeds) and scored a 5787.
I did use custom settings off course, where i got rid of 2048 shadows and settled for 1024, turned of SSAO and real time reflections.
The rest was maxed out though, including the background tesellation stuff to make the floor have some depth and what not.
