Real time turn based, which is why I felt it uncomfortable.

whereas i like all kinds of rpgs except for the bad ones that are mmos *yawns* . such as FFXIV, WoW, SWTOR and ESO

Action RPGs are what I started with, as you had a few basic ones on the early Commodore PCs, as well as in the arcades of the 1980s, then I discovered turn-based the first being "Phantasy Star" on the SMS, and then "Final Fantasy" and played turn-based for many years and then just got fed up with them, and went back to action RPGs and that's where I've stayed since then.
