OnRPG/MMOHuts Game of the Week: Phantasy Star Online

As decided by this poll we will be playing Phantasy Star Online from today until May 1st.

Here is the download link. Just follow the instructions and create an account on that website and you'll be ready to go. Please post your in-game names here so we can group together and whatnot.

WHEN MAKING YOUR ACCOUNT AND SETTING UP YOUR PASSWORD: USE ONLY LOWER-CASE! THE GAME FORCES LOWERCASE SO IF YOU HAVE UPPERCASE IT WILL NOT WORK. You can use uppercase during the account creation, but when you in-put the data in the game you'll have to do lowercase for it to work. For example, since I used ApocaRUFF as my username, and had several uppercase letters in my password, I had to enter apocaruff and all lower-case letters when I tried to log in-game.

make sure to download the patch from the ingame menu btw. it fixes the stuttering menu music, among other things i assume.

AVG was being a ***** though, and saying it was a virus, disabled it, no more issues.

is PSO BB controller friendly?

the controls are kind of weird. f12 takes u to the main menu ingame.

f1 shows u what key to use for the other menus.

would you guys recommend plugging in my ps3 controller?

edit: game seems controller friendly, tho i don't think there's any way to get analogue camera movement

Start a one person room, and choose "Battle Training" under side quests at the guild counter. You'll be paired up with an npc named "Kierrk" who will show some basics that will get you by until ultimate.

As for starting classes.... Definitely a Hunter character by far. You do have 4 slots per account though so.... experiment with them all.
Once you get a little more understanding of the game, consider making a ranger class. I'd wait to make a force character until you've experienced ultimate enough and found some ok force type gear.

ok to organize a team what we need to do is go to the desk in the lobby and set one up i think :]

with this lady's you have different options

Organize a Party= here you can create a party or join an existent party.
Transport= here you can change Ship or Block.
Team= you can create a Team (guild) if you are the Owner of a team it give you more options.

Create Party

If you decide to create a party you can choose from Episode 1, Episode 2, Episode 4.
each episode have different Quest's.

here you set the Party Name, Password if you want to be a private Party.
Play Mode= you can select Normal, Batlle, Challenge y One person

Normal=others player can join to your party (maximum 4 player total) do quest's ore just play history.
Battle=means Player Vs Player.
Challenge= Not available for the moment.
One Person=Play alone. you can do everything , quest's , missions etc.. in this mode the game adapts to one person
and also it's more easier than Normal mode.

each mode has different missions and quest. and you can find different items.

One more option Difficulty here you set the difficulty of the game, you must have certain level to play on different difficulty.

if you lose focus on the window, the game will close, so i suggest adding the exe to steam, it works just fine ingame
