Lots of celebrities autograph for free, however, there are also quite a few that charge their fans for their signatures and pictures.
I can understand the latter when it's people who haven't had a job in decades and it's their only form of income other than dwindling royalties but the people who are in current successful projects and still convention hop to charge their fans large amounts of money seem a bit odd.
Nathan Fillion(Castle/Firefly), for example,is currently convention hopping and in most cases is the most expensive at $100 for a signed photo.
