The one thing I wanted from SAO is their profession/crafting system. A lot of MMO's have tried to have a 100% player economy but I've never seen one (outside of EvE) that actually succeeds. When everybody can get to the crafting cap that means the crafting is too easy, at least in my opinion. I'm not saying you should have to go into dungeons or raids (although maybe for some insanely rare mats, sure) but the idea that everybody should easily be able to reach the max crafting rank is just silly in my opinion. The problem is how you go about setting it up and I'm honestly not sure how to do that. Just having it based on grinding is terrible, the earlier you play the game the higher you are compared to other people. Which makes sense, but it shouldn't just be grinding. Maybe incredibly precise minigames could be used, the more you "grind" the minigame the better your personal skill at it would get, making you a better and better crafter. I liked that in SAO there were master crafters (and even master shop owners), you had your own home to work from, you had your own store front, you had to actually man the store front yourself, stuff like that.
Dunno, food for thought I guess.
