Default Heroes of the Realm closing

    Dear Lords,

It is with great disappointment that OGPlanet must announce the closure of our Heroes of the Realm
service, effective as of July 25th, 2015.

We feel much of the community has expected this for some time now, based on the multi-month
update drought, but that does little to settle our feelings towards this announcement.

It has been truly a great opportunity of release our first browser-based game to the North American &
European players. However, due to the circumstance of the Development Studio, we are unable to
support the community in the way it merits.

The Cash Shop will be closed on July 9th and all Astros that were spent in the game since June 1st will be
returned so you may use them to explore other experiences in OGPlanet. Previously purchased content
will remain available in-game until July 25th, 2015, as by then the servers will be shut down and the
game will no longer be available.

*For those who played our game on the Kongregate portal, your Kreds will be returned to your account
following Kongregate’s refund policy – a 30 day guarantee on purchases.

From the HotR Team and everyone here at OGPlanet, we cannot thank you all enough for your dedication and support.

I've seen this coming. Lags like hell, literally no people playing few months after beta, P2W ingame shop (oh yeah, it's a browser game, probably that's an excuse, right...), RNG that was absolutely insane, fvcked up pvp. Cool game bro. Cool game. Eating cactus is more fun.

The MMO market has been "full ******" for quite some time. All these closures is the first sign that its returning to a sensible state.

Old games need to die for a new generation of WoW clones to take its place.

Decided not to play when the AI was glitched in the alpha. I think units wouldn't spawn if they blocked each other or archers wouldn't move forward if their path had been blocked earlier that turn... Seemed weird. I loved the concept too.

the illustrations were pretty so i played it for quite a bit, i made so many accounts to get rare cards from the free packs and sticked with the accounts that had the good rare cards in it.. the automated combat was lame but what can you expect from those lazy developers trying to service cash cow automated browser games rofl.
