Default Archlord 2 News - Time to Say Goodbye - Webzen Announces Closure

Webzen has announced that Archlord 2 will be closing on November 24, 2015 when servers will be deactivated. While no reason is given for the closure, it can be assumed that the game was not turning the profit Webzen wished even though during the course of the game's relatively short life, over 300,000 players took part in the game with over 5M hours of game play.

From now through the end date, players will be able to take advantage of server-wide buffs, event content will be scheduled and in-game shop items' prices will be set to zero. Extra castle sieges and guild battles are also on the schedule for the remaining time.

You can read the full announcement on the Archlord 2 site.

Yea don't believe its closing is due to the game not being profitable. Webzen already has a new game coming out this fall and don't believe they planned to sign the deal with Eloa in addition. As such they looked at all their games and it was likely the least profitable. Not having the time to staff up to publish a new game, they're likely moving the Archlord 2 maintenance team over to deal with Eloa.

Honestly the game was so bad the only audience it had was Archlord 1 fans then they saw it was worse then they just all quit. No reason to keep playing it over an AL1 private server.
