I've been thinking of playing a space game ever since I saw Star Citizen. I wanted to try out the alpha, but I'm not sure how to get into it. I've heard of the arena thing, but I don't know exactly what that is or what to do in that. I see there's alpha 2.0 and purchasing the arena pack gets in there or so it says; at least the arena part. Then there's Elite Dangerous. The game is complete but comparing between ships I like Star Citizen better especially the fps aspect of it sounds cool.
I guess what I'm getting at is if I were to decide to purchase one of them. Which I should choose?
I have heard very very bad things from Star Citizen, avoid it.
I've also heard bad things from Elite Dangerous but my roommate has like 100+ hours in it so it can't be all that bad.
Bad things about Star Citizen are basically it being a huge scam. One guy, maybe multiple, that have left the team said that basically they sell hype. Put out some crazy commercial that increases some sales, progress very little on the game, and then make another commercial. ALso pretty much everyone agrees that the scope of game they are going for cannot be done with the money they have.
