I'm not going with crt. I considered it, but in the end I'm just gonna do an hdmi out.
I thought about how I wanted to do things, and I decided I'm gonna actually pass on the cabinet part entirely. I'm gonna just build the control panel for the joysticks and buttons and make it super portable. That way I can plug it in and play it where ever. Everybody has a a HDTV around :P
The brains will be a raspberry pi running retropie but stripped down to only include mame since I have hard copies of console games.
If this works well I'll probably make a second one and try to do it as cheap as possible (but keeping functionality).
