Perma-death, no thanks... life already has perma-death and I live in Rio de Janeiro, I have a chance to get perma-death every day.

No its not Perma Death, it is Perma Growing old and dying thats after 10-14 months IRL. if youre not old and die like normal in pvp or a dungeon you still get revived and what not the only time you have to buy a new spark is after the 10-14 months (depending on what you do in game it can be shortened)

I've been following this game on my facebook. I see it in ads all the time. It looks interesting. I like the DNA idea.
    Quoted from Kashis
"I have a penis, I don't need to play as a guy to be reminded of that."

Every time you promote a crap browser game...I die a little inside.

Indeed! The game has so much going for it. It's amazing how small their Dev Team is as of right now, and I'm sure it will get much larger after the successful Kickstarter campaign.

The team seems to be quite small...most of the times that doesn't work very well, certainly not for the kind of mmorpg they want to make.

Any game company can make a shitty game look great with a few "cute" ingame clips and epic background music.

I'm sorry for everyone who backed this, I hope it turns out an excellent game...but chances are it'll be as bad as the previous dozens who did exactly the same and failed so hard.

And why did life's thing sound fishy to me? Well, I guess you make a progress in the game, and the "better" you get the faster your life is spent. For starters it's been said by them that getting killed with certain status makes your life go away quite fast...so those "10-14 months" could actually be days in some cases? The info is so vague anyways.

Either way, anyone remembers Dark and Light? Yeah..., or wait... Mortal Online? Yeah...epic pre-release videos right?
So what do I expect from this game? Either a game shutting down early or a buggy and clunky game that barely is online. I hope I'm wrong tho, we need new mmorpgs with different things.
Well at least you are wrong in one thing, regarding the death system we have the exact informations on how it will work, so it isn't vague at all. Here is the Developer Journal on it if you want to check it out DJ #16: The Weight and Measure of a Lifetime, But I'll try to explain it in a nutshell.

So basically you will have a lifetime in between 270.8 and 437.5 days (It is a random number given to the character at birth and it averages out to 354 days, if you do the math). It does not matter what you do in game, if you don't die at all, that is how long you are going to get to play with that given character. If you do die and you don't have any fame, as in you are not any kind of ruler, or haven't done anything particulary noteworthy (slain a boss, killed a lot of players compared to others, etc.) then you will loose 2 days of game time with that character (it only counts as 1 death if it is less then 2.5h from your previous death). In addition being defeated in PVP, does not mean you die, it means only that you are knocked unconcious, they have to deal a very concious final blow, to "kill you". In a warzone it works a bit differently, you loose on the basic fame lvl 8 days of playtime, but it counts as 1 death if it within 10h of your previous death.

Now let's say you die 2 times (more then 2.5h apart) everyday and you initially had 354 days (the average) that would mean 354/4 days witch is 88.5 days, witch is about 3 months, with 1 extra spark of life being 30$ (to start a new character with your same soul that has all the advantages you earned with your previous character) it would mean you need to pay 10$ every month to keep playing (for comparison WoW is 13$ in the case you buy 6 month in advance).

But if you have time read through the developer journal I linked, it explains it better than I could.
