Quick Guild Wars 2 Question

Is anyone here playing guild wars 2? I saw a trailer online and after a bit of research, found out that it was buy to play for the main game and the expansion.

So, I was wondering, would I be missing out much if I bought only the main game and skipped on the expansion? Or would the experience be totally different from the start if I bought both the main game and the expansion?

Guild Wars 2 is free to play, well the core game at least, so download it and try it out

Well the expansion unlocks the revenant class and also the jungle area just buy the main game if you like the free part of the game so it removes any restrictions then when you finish the main one get the expansion or just buy them together if you like the free part enough and you see your self playing it long term.
