What about C9? You can hijack other peoples dungeon runs and PK them

Well, I've been mucking around on GW2's PvP. Nice enough, for now. I'll look a bit more into ESO, but from what I've read it doesn't sound very...pleasant.

:v I'm all for PK but barging into someone's dungeon and ripping it out from their hands? Interesting lol

Otherwise you just play against people who are around your gear level. For example now there are beginner channels where if you are a new/returning player you get to play there for 30 days, you will not find any super geared people there. Right now there are so much catch up mechanics, its no where near as hard as before to reach the average gear although that average gear standard is becoming higher as time goes thanks to these mechanics.

I just see so many people using this point to say it's not worth playing unless you spend billion hours to compete with the top. The game has plenty of players, why are you bothered by the top 1% of players. Even node wars have tiers to them so that if your guild isn't very geared/doesn't have a lot of players you can go in the tier that fits you.

I would say don't play BDO if you can't stand grind of any kind, but i will also say i know people that have been doing very good in BDO and play 2-4 hours a day outside of weekends. That mostly has to do with being smart/doing your research/knowing what you're doing. Because the lifeskill/passiveincome side of BDO has alot of depth to it. So much so that if you are actually efficient in it you can beat the traditional mob grinding in terms of profit. Anyways its a fun game and it doesn't take that long to compete with the average really, awakenings makes it even easier (and more fun).
It's 5$ now to have this game for life and they do free expansions too. If any of you haven't gotten it yet and were thinking about trying it, now is the time.

Are you up for mobile gaming? or just desktop? For mobile I can suggest MU Origin, Albion, Aurcus online etc. For desktop there are a lot for me I'll go for WoW, Albion since it's a cross platform, Lineage 2, Perfect World etc.

Well, I've had BDO for a while. Perhaps I'll run back in on my Warrior and see what's what, sometime.

And mobile gaming is ehhh for me, I have a strong PC so I like to make use of it when I can.

It isn't that I mind grind, I used to play only grindy games and still do enjoy a good grind. I just don't have the time to grind for the sake of not getting floored in any sort of PvP. I do enjoy open world PvP since it adds another layer to the game, and I understand you get in what you put out in the end.

Conflicting interests, I guess. I like the persistent world/character an MMO provides but also gameplay that leans closer to skill than gear.

Eh, I'll probably hop in BDO at some point to see what's what. Lots of new classes since I've last played, I've heard. Besides, if it sticks around and I stick around, I'll make it to the higher tiers of wherever that is, anyway.

Though I also hear cries of it being P2W. Albeit, people call _anything_ p2w nowadays. Is the game truly p2w?
Unless Closers comes in soon and forces me to pick lol

    @poeticas

I think me and you are having two completely different experience. Probably because I played a couple months after release. It's also because we have different play purpose. Also it's not fully open PvP because you have to be level 50. Even then there isn't much open world pvp action. My purpose of becoming geared is simply to defend myself because of farm territory and to kill mobs faster. I don't play competitively to be a 1%.

I never experience any of what you said. Nor am I in a guild. I am working on earning a full boss gear set. I have 3 of 4 boss armor, a duo kzarka blade, ogre ring and a ring of crescent guardian. I am not in any guild and I have rarely been killed in pvp. The total times I've encounter pvp can be counted with my hands. I only play with 2 other friends making a total of 3 party member. All I do is scrolls with them. I do 7 daily scrolls 1 weekly and 9 - 14 relic scrolls (relic scrolls total is per person so over 30 scrolls in total). Occasionally I would farm at sousan with 1 of them. Though, people are usually nice about it until you find one or two a-holes being a douche.

The only time someone really will mess with you is from afk fishing in unsafe zones. Once you find a hidden spot your chance of being killed is really slim. If your average DP is high then it lowers the chance of someone messing with you even more.

All those things I earned and did, I was afk 90% of the time. My friend that I play with played much later then me and earned everything I earned in 2 months with minimum effort.

So unless you're in a guild that's looking to be in the top then yea probably what you say is sort of true. You're thinking of the treant and desert camouflage. Though, I don't think it's a requirement for all guilds unless they are going around flagging other guilds. It's meaningless unless they really hate the other guild. I think some of the information you're talking about is a bit outdated and one sided. Yea, it's gear dependent only once you reach end game and only matters how competitive you set yourself to be. Other wise what sliferx94 say.
