The problem with this thread and the other one is that the question is vague. You are asking what people think "they" think is the most popular FPS. I mean your gonna get everything from CS 1.6 to Blood 2 really.
The truth of the matter is what IS the most popular FPS around today? I've stated it in the other thread and I'll say it here
CS 1.6 is the most popular FPS, period. It has the most players, the most servers. It has more LAN parties and LAN events around it, entire leagues are built off just CS 1.6 etc etc etc.
While FEAR is an awesome FPS and Day of Defeat Source rocks my socks, they are not the most popular, neither is Blood 2
