Anyone tried this yet? It seems pretty interesting, and is also getting pretty great reviews and more press than I'd expect from an indie game like this. Apparently it's been in f2p alpha for over a year before this steam launch, (though no one was talking about it that I saw until now, and I had no idea it existed until it showed up on steam), so it's already really polished for an early access game from what people are saying. I might get it when I have the spare coin, but am interested in seeing what any others think that have played it already.
This does look interesting, especially since it's not just one long war but ones that persist for a few days at a time.
If I get it in the future I'll certainly party up with folks on here.
I got the game and have mixed feelings. I only played for 45 minutes. In those 45 minutes, I experienced a fairly toxic community and was on the losing side, who had completely lost the campaign and only held a single outpost, yet the match was still going on. It was the same on the other two matches/campaigns/servers I tried.
It seems like a game that will be incredibly hard to enjoy unless you have at least one other person in a voice chat. The game encourages the use of a Discord to help find other players, but I'm not that fond of the "Jump in with random people you don't know" type thing.
To be clear, though, the reasons I'm not enjoying the game (at least not yet... I plan to give it another 40 minutes or so before I decide whether or not to refund) are personal. Perhaps at a later time when I think about the purchase more and get a few others to join with me I'll have more fun with it.
I'm also partially motivated to refund so I won't feel so bad buying Gunheart.
