Default What is the best Free MMORPG?

I been playing MMORPG's for years and I can't seem to get into one game I'm not sure why either after time I find it boring doing the same thing over and over again, lagg issues, story line not keeping me interested in the game

So what I am looking for is something Free MMORPG, Good story line that will keep me interested, Mounts/Pets if possible, Good Graphics and I mean like Revelation Online or Archeage Graphic wise it can be close to Ether Sega also but nothing too too animated or loose graphic otherwise I just won't play it.

Please help me with some idea's

It isn't strictly free, but I would recommend the free trial for FF14 to see if you like the game. I've played more or less every free MMO out there trying to find something to really sink my teeth into and have basically come to the conclusion that you just aren't going to get real quality unless you eventually pick up a paid MMO. Your mileage may vary of course, but in the end even the free MMOs don't tend to be free if you want a genuinely enjoyable experience with them. Considering the big way free MMOs get you to pay is by inconveniencing you I tend to find just paying a sub and getting more or less everything to be a better overall experience.

The graphics you're looking for generally don't exist in a free MMO that isn't designed to nickle and dime you to make up for the fact they had to pay for said amazing graphics.

However, if you want 100% free...

If you like Star Wars, I can definitely recommend SWtoR. If all you want is great story you can play through all eight class stories for free and some of them (especially the Agent) are really good. It has pets, mounts, and good enough graphics (in my opinion) to not be considered overly animated. Of course if you don't pay some of the activities in the game are a bit limited, but for just going through the stories that doesn't matter in the slightest.

If those don't work for you, not sure what else to recommend honestly. Good luck with your hunt in any case.

[edit] Forgot one, you could also try Guild Wars 2. The base game is 100% free and has very few restrictions for free players. Fair warning though, the expansion is a vastly different game compared to the base game.

If you really think about the term free, is anything really free? I am in a similar boat like you. I have never found an mmo that can keep in interested for a long time. Paid, buy, or free, they all had some sort of flaw that led me to quit them. I liked ffxiv, still do and sort of miss it, but I thought the end game is way too boring. In the end ffxiv is all about gear progression once you reached cap. The way you do that is to grind dungeon over and over again until you have bis. I also hate ffxiv story as well. Not that they probably have a bad script. I just hate their English voice acting and the subtitles for other language is based on English voice. So if you do switch voice over to other language you're getting completely different meanings.

There are some games that's said to be great, gw2, but in my opinion you're not gonna like what you find in there because ultimately you're going to be tunnel to more specific content.

I've heard swtor is great for story, as the same for tsw. The only bad thing about tsw now is that they made lots of bad changes to gameplay (imo), and are focusing on wrong aspect of the game. For example, they are now working on a tv series instead of polishing the game. They only made one core change and that is to work and force with the reticle system.

There isn't that many great "free" mmorpg games out there. The ones that is paid or buy are usually of higher quality but in terms of story or focus of content they are lacking.

Try to play in the Path of Exile, there is some storyline, there are quests, nice graphics. PoE is free to play, but there are micro transactions (not mandatory), there is also a coolly developed trade system between players. Creators do not tolerate real trade money, you exchange with the currency what are poe orbs (Mainly exalted orbs and chaos orbs).
PoE has now outdone D3 (paid) and is the best MMORPG (free to play). I recommend you the Path of Exile
If you want to buy Exalted Orbs and Chaos Orbs (PoE Currency in general) it is best to trade in trusted PoE Shops. Such a reliable shop with cheap Exalted orbs is Odealo https://odealo.com/games/path-of-exile

Path of exile is indeed not too bad ARPG but most of the D fans know that poe keep nerfing or tweaking when your build turn into powerful, (its like GGG cant stand the "powerful" in their game).
Yes you still can play the game for the fun till you bore but if you not those serious or maybe hardcore players about the game you wont make it into endgame stages farming.
In standard league, its been very very old since 2013 and mostly nothing you can trade for exalted or even mirror orb so if you those lucky one then good for you but after-all its just playable game but not the best out of old day diablo 2.

Recently v3.0 is kinda disappointment to be honest , just list a few major issue
    - Greatly increased bosses health upgrade, nothing impressive on players side as its still the same old dps unless you gotten have all pieces best roll GG item.
    - loots are way pointless out of the few meta unique items,
    - FPS drop/lag still in this version on not well optimize map and skill effect

+1 Super fun f@#king game, worth stealing your parent's credit card for after the trial. XD I remember I actually subscribed before my trial was even over.
