The only Russian game I can recall is Sphere, I got a stalker for a couple of years as a gift when I played it.

In the game you played as a soldier, could throw grenades and pick up ammo and other weapons from the killed enemies.
Topdown perspective, shootemup style. I suddenly thought of it and wanted to play it again , cant seem to find it since i don't know its name. It also had a steam release and an english website hosted by the russian developers.

Nope , this was a top down 3d multiplayer game of sorts.
Soldat is a 2d sidescroller.
