What Happened to Base Building Games???

Anyone know some good base building games? I want to be able to play on a team, lay down resource extractors, lay down turrets, and upgrade my mech. Examples: Fantasy Earth Zero, LOVE by quelsolaar, Gate 88, Wulfram II, Cyberstrike

I do NOT want some linear tower defense or 1v1 tug-of-war! There are enough of those on the market, and I enjoyed Dungeon Defenders but it lacks PvP. I don't want some FPS where I can place one single turret or an RTS where I control every unit. I want to be the villager who builds structure and upgrades my mech. FPS/MOBA games where my whole team can adopt a turtle/siege comp are also acceptable.

im not a huge fan of base bulding games but the last one i played was Factorio. It's incredible how smart the game is designed and how you can automate literally anything. from creating raw resources to actual buildings. even the storage or placement of them could be automated if you have the knowledge of setting it all up. It doesn't have any pvp from what i know, but they added a online mode a couple months ago where you can team up with others. everything about the game is customisable but in general you're playing a defending role against slowly evolving monsters. as your base expands, the pollution caused by this does too. if any monster nests nearby catch a whiff of you they go into attack mode and keep respawning overtime till the hive/nest is destroyed.




it's probably not exactly what you requested, but its definitely worth a check out if you haven't already :P

Yes Factorio is the best thing since EVE Online. And they've both left a hungering void.

Have you ever tried FortressCraft Evolved? Not sure about the "Upgrade my Mech" portion... or what that even means <.< Also don't think it has PvP. You're looking for an online sort of thing with this?

If you liked Factorio, I highly suggest Oxygen Not Included and/or Rimworld. Great base builder/colony survival games.
