Tree of Savior Still Alive: Big Patch Tomorrow

ToS is steady at around 2.4k players peak each day, average 1.6K (EU servers are way more dead than NA). So pretty small community, maybe nice tight knit, like an RO Private server.
They've done a lot of changes to skills and classes, the max level is 360 , the FPS has been fixed (so they say) and apparently it's a lot faster to level up.

Territory wars (https://treeofsavior.com/page/news/view.php?n=1363) actually sounds fun. Wonder if it compares to Angels Online territory wars, or RO WoE.

Apparently you don't need tokens to level anymore, because leveling is fast, but next patch will make Tokens have 50% increased exp, rather than 20%.

I'm honestly very surprised this game is still updated very frequently, and a lot of balance patches as well.
I'm thinking about playing again just for the Rainbow Trek jump quest. I love jump quests in MMOs.

Will be fun to jump in with the influx of new and returning players tomorrow. There are Returning player packs (https://treeofsavior.com/page/news/view.php?n=1347), and I think New player packs (If your team is at Team Level 1, head out to your nearest Event Notice Board to receive one Boost Pack (14 Days) (it will be received all at once on the first character you use the Notice Board with).

ToS might be more like RO than ever before because of the smaller population because I only played Private Servers. lol

Not to mention, the skills and builds in this game are incredible.
I quit because of the FPS lag, bots, hackers, and friends leaving.
There are still bots and gold sellers, but they're apparently not a big deal anymore. We'll see.
Might tie me over till MS2

The skill system and builds are still the most incredible out of any MMO, even more than, dare I say it, Mabinogi.
The variety was always amazing and very fun to theory craft.

Also how fast are we talking about in fast leveling?

Appears to be some new questing modes where you can level really fast.
People hardly do Dungeons now, they do a thing called Challenge Mode Feature (CM)

just dropped the game after having it played for a week or 2. you level so quickly in this game now that you spend more time traveling than actual killing for the first 200 or so levels lol. quests are just pointless till then. after that i found myself just killing the same monsters i met in the lower level areas but with different colors. lot of graphical glitches happened to me with the environment and the quarrel shooter class. also i had this stupid quest that kept popping up constantly in my tracker that i didn't even have in my quest journal, named "unlock secret card". this stupid quest completely broke my tracker by constantly bumping other quests off the list.
on the first floor of the demon prison theres a stone you can use a item on to teleport to a secret location of that map, the portal back used to work just fine the last 2 times i played, now.. broken. you'd be stuck there forever if it werent for warpscrolls.

theres sooo many tiny little bugs that add up to a gigantic pile of broken shit. i doubt this game will ever be saved, even though i wish so much for it to be a great game. it has solid graphics, solid gameplay. everything else they managed to **** up. even the players i met in game are talking shit about the game and about how the developers dont even play their own game. thats why they are able to release ridiculous content like the appraiser class quest. (but if you dont like camping a flower for 2 hours, and then watering it for 2 more, its good to know you can also just.. buy a Class Unlock Voucher with real money. ain't that fun) its very clear the mindset for this was "how can we make this quest as annoying as possible to make people want to buy this voucher to skip it".

It seems to copy the Nexon Marketing strategy pretty well, which is no surprise since Nexon handles the publishing of this game in every region but EU / NA / SA / SEA. i'm sure they still do handle the marketing of those regions though :P


TLDR version: great game but nexon probably ****ed it.
