Well with living world if you log in around release you usually get it for free , although mounts are unlocked in path of fire so I don't know if you will need the expansion for the mount for this one. But looking at the video it looks like it's being run around the expansions desert .

Now would be a good time to get it though as i think it's 50% off?

I don't think you need the preavious episodes, at much you wont understand the story and thats it.
