I don't play WoW right now (I'm on FFXIV for now), but I used to maybe 6 months ago since BfA launched, but yes WoW is still in GREAT shape as of now IF you compare it to other MMOs. But from what I experienced lately on BfA, the only thing that's making people sub are the updates. Gear progression is so RNG right now.
Despite that, WoW is still in the lead on MMO subscriptions.
FYI, the WeakAuras addon API leak from Blizz is, apparently, worldwide statistics of end date subs of people EXCEPT China. 1.7m subs in WoW excluding China just means WoW is leading by a mile.
