OK, It's been a couple months, but I'm still working (in my spare time)
So far, I decided I wanted to get my hands dirty with a little more detailed scenes, so I've started to build the avatar world engine (you get out of your ships at stations and planets and walk around, more info later). I've still been working on the core game engine, I just felt like doing a little more detailed work that shows more results. Space games maps ussually consist of a txt file detailing planet locations, sizes, and textures, not much else (besides stations which only detail location and rotation/tilt).
So here's the reason I posted. I wanted to give you guys some kind of update, so here's my lates Test Model. It is merly a a test world in which will never be used again.
Warning, this pre-build is very buggy, so no complaints. Also, I'm going to try and be back in a couple of weeks with a version thatr is actually online and players can walk around and chat in a biger world.
I have hi hopes for this project. So all of ya'll board out of your whit, check out my progress.
note: movement is still frame based, so move speeds will be determined by the fps of the game.
