The USSR is a very organised, they are proffecient in classical army techniques. Which is easily counterable by Americas overlarge Army. But the terrorists are more or else using the same techniques in the vietnamese war. Which makes it impossible for the americans to actually strategically and tactically defeat them more or less impossible.

Ah, but the USSR had an entire nuculear (that's a real word, according to the latest edition of OED) arsenal, and most of their population (which was large) under control.

What the terrorists have is little known (or kept secret by the US government), but if they had nukes they would have used them by now.

I say Terrorists. For a simple reason, they managed to get further into our borders and cause unsurmountable damage then the USSR did and therefore, more of a threat.

Though the USSR was way more organized/united, I think that terrorists are a much greater threat. They have very advanced technologies and weaponry available to them, they have allegedly crossed US borders (9/11) and the fact they just don't give a damn about attacking anyone makes the terrorists quite a threat to our country.

The old USSR threat was a deadly riposte for the U.S., however, they were ******ed in forms of economical-to-geopolitical stances.

Layman's Terms: Their appointed leaders would spend more money on military means of distraction rather than caring for the people and their own civilization which, in turn, turned them out.

The newer terrorist threat, IMO, isn't nearly as serious. Regardless of their technologies, most of them aren't as good as the US' and or UK's seeing as they get their tech from surrounding 3rd World Countries.

Oh and...big word: They can't define the term "nuclear" - The US can.

USSR had the capiblity to take out all of american, lucky for us they didnt... they where a bigger threat because the terrorist dont have enough funding to have enough supplys to make a nuculer warhead
