On top of that, your able to get out of the house and on your own. As for the income, I couldn't tell you exact numbers but its probably around 30-40k a year or something. Quick guess. But then you don't pay for anything really except for the stuff you buy. Its a life changing choice, so hopefully you have some time to think about whats gonna happen and give your parents enough time to grasp the idea.
your parents, like all, are just worried about you, which is completely cool. I think after you serve time in army, u can get jobs like body guard(cuz u need some skills) which get MAAADD WAPPPSSS DDDDD .. i dont think too ahead, cuz prolly by the time im 18 id be flippin cracks .. i mean burgers

and pika.. remember... NO RESPAWN POINTSS!!!!!

I hate it when people turn a real life serious event into their own amusement.

To be honest, ONCE YOU GET THROUGH BOOTCAMP, the life is extremely engaging and enjoyable.

I'll let you know right away however - Your recruiter will lie to you. (Depending on your intelligence, AT LEAST a good 30% of what they say are lies).

That's pretty much what I thought. It's kind of hard to determine what he's lying about though. I just have to be really careful and make sure everything he says can be put in a signed contract that I can give to my lawyer.

I'm going to join the Army for pratice proposes ONLY when i'm older.

Oh and one thing..If you go to the army, always ALWAYS count the nr 0 too or you're sucked.
I've learned that from a older family friend.

Oh and when i mean practice proposes,i mean only to pass the Boot camp and then get home.

I have a cousin in the marines, a sister in the navy, and another cousin in the army. ALL of them say bootcamp is the WORST part of serving their country. Other than the lonelyness and homesickness, I bet the life is good. Currently only my sister is on duty now.

I really wouldn't want to give you advice, I just think you should talk to someone you really know, and can trust what they say. (i wouldnt know any advice either =P)

I just want to warn you kid, front line isnt a pritty sight, while you watch your friends die beside you, and after its all over... your the only one that gets away... but you are still dead inside...

HA! jk, but seriously thats how it works, its always you that lives...or its you that dies... if you fight with will, you will servive if you fight like a ****** trying to fight like on coutnerstrike you will feel the pain of a 22 cal in the forhead.

if you die can I have your money?

    jkjk

Anyways wyh do you wanna join the army? I mean I don't blame your parents for not letting you go since it is really dangerous. When you pilot a plane, it's not neccesarily safer since you have to pilot properly and if you need to eject and bonk your head on the cockpit lid, then you're screwed. If you're locked on, you have a chance of going uncounscious when you spin at a hgih altitude. Really, i'm on too much with this decision.

Leave the dying to the emos

It seems like you guys have a glorified view of the USAF. Not everyone is a pilot, in fact very few of the men and women serving in the Air Force get time in a cockpit.

Typically, the Army pays a light salary, with food and clothing allowance with free education, housing, and training. Also, after I believe fifteen years after that, the Army dishes out their notoriously sweet pension benefits. But, start off with this. 1) How old are you? Will our plan to hand over Iraq by 2008 leave you in the army when they do it, probably followed by America pulling out? Do you really think it would be better than getting a desk job or something? Are you that gung-ho on fighting for your nation's welldoing, which the world would salute you for. It's your choice- do what's right. Go America!

Actually, there are very few trenches in Iraq. It's mostly urban geurrila warfare.
