So now, one big question of history. Is the glass half full? or half empty?
So now, one big question of history. Is the glass half full? or half empty?
This is a question that has no true answer.
Like, "which came first, the chicken or the egg?"
The glass can be half full to some people.
And the glass can be half empty to others.
Reputation: 12*sigh* There are many theories to what people believe on this topic, and there isn't a definite answer due to the fact that it is both. The glass is half empty because there is empty space equal to half of the cup and it is also half full because there is something filling the glass to the halfway mark. The real question is, is it really halfway, or can nothing be exact?
It's fun argying so let's debate about it being half full or half empty =P
NO WIKIPEDIA REFERENCE PLEASE.
Reputation: 12The picture isn't neccessarily for reference, but let's focus more on the question.
The whole reason this question was proposed is because it related to the questions of life. There was no more reason too it and the question will remain unanswered forever. There is no point in arguing this topic because it is too short of one, but rather, you might want to start debating some other philosophical questions.

Then you'd pour the water into the small cup, which would be more than half empty, and almost full, therefore they'd prefer the cup to be half full, or if you pour the water into the large container, that container, or person would be almost empty, therefore that person would prefer the cup to be half empty. Tada.

Reputation: 10It depends if someone just poured it, or just drank it.
Reputation: 11It's obvious that the egg was laid in a half of a glass of water. That's why orange and silver doesn't rhyme.
Reputation: 10killer at pointign at the obvious. You see, things like those make the world what it is today. if there was no such thing as chickens, we'd live in perfect harmony. honestly, all chickens are good for is causing debates, and giving you bird flu.
"The chicken or the egg is a reference to the causality dilemma which arises from the expression "which came first, the chicken or the egg?". Since both the chicken and the egg create the other in certain circumstances (a chicken emerges from an egg; an egg is laid by a chicken) it is ambiguous which originally gave rise to the other. Purely logical attempts to resolve the dilemma result in an infinite regress, since an egg was caused by a chicken, which was caused by an egg, etc. Since every chicken originates from its egg, it seems obvious the egg came first. Put simply, the reason is down to the fact that genetic material does not change during an animal's life. The solution may require an examination of syntax and may rely on verification from advances in modern genetic science."
But anyways, who gives a shyt, why does it bother anyone if the chicken or the egg came first? The glass isnt half empty or half full because... There is no glass.
There is nothing in the glass there is no Glass, just a bunch of molecules. AHA THE YAK HAS BEEN EATEN BY RABID church MICE>![]()

If you say its half full, your full of hope. You take risks. You always look forward on something.
As far as I know, this is the meaning when you ask that question...its simple psychology.
I agree with Fieren.
Mmm juice...
