True Combat: Elite, Problems

Okay well I've seen TC:E on this site so many times, I've watched as you all have voted it for your best FPS and other things. WarRock has always been a big game for me, but I wanted to pick up TC:E it looks incredibly fun in all the pictures and videos. So I get Wolfenstein Enemy Territory, Then Download TC:E .49 and install both. W:ET then TC:E, no problem there. I'm all elicited and ready to shoot some people get into the action, right. Then I connect and there are only a few servers maybe 5. Now TC:E may be a bit dated but I'm pretty sure there is more than 5 servers. So I click one with people in there, and it starts to download some kind of missing .pk3 file. Well the download is going fine and then it will pause and display me with an error message. I try over other server on the list and yield the same results. This is getting very frustrating I really want to play TC:E! >_>

Can someone help?

ya i had this problem. you might have the wrong version. just DL the fileplanet download manager and DL it from there. it seemed to work for me. Need some more ino: Are there dozens of empty servers also? Whats the main screen look like? Hope i helped

Wrong Version of ET or TC? I'm pretty sure TC is up to date there cant be anything before .49 can there? Is there a possible patch, for this game that I may seem to have overlooked? Also the main screen doesnt look to great its got the 2 guys from the logo of TC:E and the menu at the bottom. There are only around 4-5 servers I think 2 or 3 actually have players in them. the Fileplanet download manager sounds interesting I always thought fileplanet cost money, anyways ill look for a new ET.

Go to your options and make sure "Enable downloads" is enabled. Otherwise you won't download required pak files from servers. Also make sure Wolf: ET is the proper version.

Update Enemy Territory itself to version 2.60. NOT 2.60b or you'll have problems with the servers. Also, for .49 you'll occasionally get errors with auto-download enabled, so only have it enabled whenever a server has a map you need.

Wolfenstein ET Is version 2.6, and Ive installed TC:E, but it has the same results. Where is the Auto-Download option for TC:E? I've looked in the options menu but cannot find it, also when I try to join a server I download the files but they seem very odd. Like the files I am downloading I am sure I already have. Once it said Downloading pak3.pk3 im pretty sure that was in the installer. So I look in my TC:E folder and find some very odd named files.
Also I am downloading another TC:E from fileplanet.
