Ok, we need to get rid of all these mmorpg's that continues to use the hack and slash genre of gameplay, I came up with a plan that the developers, gamers, and other people who are interested in developing a new gameplay to develop a plan here in this thread.
For people who said "this is in the wrong section", I put it here for a reason, and that reason is to get a lot of people to talk about this so that developers start making a free game that got this genre. so whoever is against me on this stuff, you can get the **** out of here and go look at some other threads.
Now to get back on to topic, this is my plan I made up several months ago, this plan I code name "Empires at war". This game is about 4 nations that that wages war against each other, so each and every nation will be facing each other, there will be no allience, no pacts, and no peace treaty.
Each nation is a specific race, they have their own custom buildings, their own custom weapons, and their own customized looks. The Races in this games are real life civilizations, Japan, China, Maya, Aztecs, Vikings, England, and so forth. Each 4 nations will be chosen what race to be at the first election period of the game for each empire. so who will be the first person to hold the throne/office/etc? why the player who have been elected by the 20 people who voted for him, the game will not start until each nation have a leader and have 20 people on each nation to join first.
After the election started and every nation got a leader and 20 population on each nation, the game starts. Players have to get a job or occupation and start working on the task to improve their empire, to go to war against the 3 enemy nations to destory each other, and other things as well, that's right... players have the ability to do anything in the game!
The leader has the ability to elect other players to become the governer of other towns so that the nation could expand, and also allow people to build more around the area. not only does the leader can elect others, but they control the taxes, and other things as well that is needed. The Leader of the nation also have access to the tech tree as well, to research and develop new things for the players to use to develop markets, weapons, and other shorts of stuff that is vital to their empire.
Don't forget that you also need the resources if you want to build that vital thing, so therefore you need to find that resource and connect it to the empire so that you can make that thing you wanted to make. Players have to craft, build, expand, and wage war against each other to win. Once every empire was collapse under the forces of yours, then that empire has won, and the game resets back to the beginning to face another challenge.
This is my plan on the game I want, a Mix of Civilization 3/4, with planetside, along with oblivion for the skill-based system, and also the first person aspect of it.
What are your plans for the next genre of gameplay?
