    Mcafee detected this virus W32/Sdbot.worm.gen.l, and it can't delete it! please someone give me instructions on how to get rid of it!

    What OS? Pre-XP windows doesn't have system restore, you idiots. He might not have XP.

    I rescanned my comp and i was able to quarantine and delete the infected file. did it get rid of it? did i have to restart my computer?

    That would be good. Going into Safemode makes it easy to delete viruses, and it usually works. If you got rid of it, thats good.

    Well, that's still fine, I just assumed that if McAfee couldn't delete it that it had piggybacked some system process, therefore Windows wouldn't let you delete it. If you got it deleted, and rescanned and it wasn't there, then it's all good.
